Digital is rapidly transforming industries worldwide, and the offshore energy sector is no exception. The underlying sensing, mathematical, computational, and information technologies have been advancing for decades, but the pace of advancement has become exponential propelled by the exploding computational backbone and cloud infrastructure and accelerated by an avalanche of never-ending data with 90% of the world's data estimated to have been generated in the last two years. This keynote will cover some of the most successful use cases as well as some of the major challenges encountered in digital transformation, which remains one of the few levers remaining for the industry to go to the next level of operational excellence, allowing it to keep up with growing demand.
