Technical Session
This technical session showcases advanced methods for estimating water saturation in low-permeability limestone oil fields and using machine learning to forecast hydrocarbon potential, with case studies from China and Peru. It highlights the first advanced through-tubing formation evaluation in the UAE and the application of LWD logging suites in the South China Sea. The session also covers the differential effective medium model for improved water saturation estimation in shaly sands, the integration of petrophysical data with machine learning for reservoir modeling, and the use of 4D seismic to enhance profitability in offshore sandstone oil fields. Additionally, it discusses the importance of fit-for-purpose ground models in frontier field development and new log-log analysis techniques for assessing transient reservoir compaction damage in fractured oil wells.
