Offshore Geothermal: Past Studies, Present Focus, and Future Technologies

Monday, 6 May
Technical / Poster Session
Offshore geothermal energy has been discussed for multiple decades, examining how to make this potential energy source an economic success. At present, there is no offshore geothermal energy. Why not? This session will review the past studies that have been completed around the world, discuss the present focus and effort in offshore geothermal energy production, and highlight technology gaps and technology advancements that will enable future economic success.
