Technical / Poster Session
As the renewable energy space is growing, there has been lengthy discussion on the fact that renewables are variable often with the complaint of “the sun doesn’t always shine and the wind doesn’t always blow” which coincides with the fact that conventional power generation and consumption arrangements have to be perfectly matched at every moment. Intermittent sources create new challenges and opportunities for energy management. This session delves into those topics, such as mechanisms for energy storage, energy transmission and power management, system sizing, response time, and transient conditions, and all-renewable versus hybrid systems.
