The Bonga field development in offshore Nigeria reached 1 billion barrels of production in early 2023 through continuous improvement, life extension, and brown-field project excellence. The project leadership will share their journey to 1 billion barrels and their expansion of the field to a total of 77 wells when starting from a FID plan of 576 million barrels using 16 wells at first production in 2005.
